Turning your Guest Room into a Cozy Oasis
With the holidays right around the corner, most of us are in full swing getting our house decorated and ready for our out-of town-guests. While most of us tend to focus on decluttering and cleaning the main living areas, have you thought about giving your guest room a fresh facelift this year?
Here are some warm and welcoming items to consider as you prepare for your guest:
Plush throws, blankets and pillows
Not only does adding blankets, pillows and throws to your guest room provide a functional use, but it also adds a warmer and welcoming feel to the space. I love nothing more than curling up with a fuzzy blanket
Lush plants or fresh flowers
For a quick and simple way to spruce up your guest room, try adding fresh flowers or lush plants. This quick five-minute makeover can transform your guest bedroom into a breath of fresh air–a small but beautiful gesture that will make them feel welcome in your home.

Ample storage space
Raise your hand if you hate living out of a suitcase when you travel. I know I definitely do! If you don’t have a dresser or closet you can clear out for your guest, make sure to add baskets or a bench for added storage throughout the room.

Comfy and cozy sitting area
Adding a little sitting area gives your guests a comfy and cozy private area to unwind, somewhere besides their bed. If you don’t have a lot of room, try transforming a corner into a simple reading nook. However, if the room allows, adding a loveseat and coffee tables adds perfect welcoming touch.

Simple basics and added extras
Sometimes it’s the little things that count the most. Consider adding a lighted clock to a bedside table, a diffuser with your favorite essential oils, coffee table books and magazines, a basket of toiletries as well as the Wi-Fi information, just to name a few.
